Kenyans across the country ushered in the New Year in varied yet vibrant ways, marked by faith, celebration and cultural expression.

President William Ruto led national reflections from Eldoret, where he quoted Daniel 11:32, emphasizing resilience and faith as key pillars for the year ahead. He noted that “the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits,” setting a reflective tone for the national celebrations.

In Kirinyaga County, Kerugoya town came alive as thousands gathered at Kaitheri Polytechnic for an electrifying New Year’s Eve celebration. The event attracted a mammoth crowd, with fireworks displays, nduthi culture, and kigoco performances taking centre stage, creating a festive atmosphere that stretched into the early hours of the morning.

Another major attraction was the fireworks display at Njine Kabia Falls in Kiabarikiri, approximately 2.5 kilometres from Kaitheri. The spectacle blended seamlessly with the natural landscape, offering revelers a unique fusion of nature and celebration.

The final fireworks display was staged shortly after midnight by People’s Church Kerugoya, bringing the celebrations to a dramatic close and drawing applause from residents.

Across the country, the dominant New Year theme remained consistent—hope, faith, unity, and optimism for a better year ahead.
