 The views from the summit are genuinely breathtaking. Mt. Longonot is a dormant stratovolcano located in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, approximately 90 km northwest of Nairobi. It is a popular hiking destination among locals and tourists, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes and the nearby Lake Naivasha.  Travel Tuesdays  embark on a hiking safari to this wonderful destination. The mountain stands at 2,776 meters (9,109 feet) above sea level and features a crater at its summit that is believed to have formed about 400,000 years ago. Longonot is its hiking trail, which is approximately 7 km (4.3 mi) long and takes around 3-4 hours to complete.
