The inaugural Kenya Tourism Awards 2024, held on February 7, 2025, at the prestigious Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi, celebrated outstanding achievements in the nation's tourism and hospitality sectors. The event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, honored individuals, organizations, and businesses that have significantly contributed to the growth and promotion of tourism in Kenya.

Top Honors of the Night

The coveted Industry Icon of the Year award Best Tourism Personality category, was presented to Marley Sianto, recognizing her exceptional contributions to Kenya's tourism landscape. In the  Judith Langat Tanju secured the first runner-up position, while Ann Turpesia was the second runner-up.

Excellence in Hospitality and Travel

In the hospitality sector, Gem Forest Hotel was awarded Best Luxury Hotel, with Glee Nairobi and Radisson Blu Nairobi Arboretum as first and second runners-up, respectively. Sarova Hotels clinched the Best Hotel Group title, followed by PrideInn Resorts and Trianum Hospitality Operators.

The Best Inbound Tour Operator award went to Ongeri Tours, with Bigfoot Adventure and Smart Voyage as runners-up. For outbound operations, Viutravel emerged as the winner, and Lax by Mulanda Ltd secured the second position.

Culinary and Entertainment Highlights

270° Rooftop Restaurant was recognized as the Best Restaurant, with Upepo Restaurant and CJ's Restaurant Koinange Street as runners-up. In the nightlife category, Bar Next Door was named Best Bar/Night Club/Lounge, followed by Kisumu and Funky Monkey.

Recognizing Individual Achievements

The Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Alex Chamwada OGW, MBS, honoring his enduring impact on Kenya's tourism industry. In the sports tourism segment, Faith Kipyegon was celebrated as the Best Female Sports Personality, with Angela Okutoi and Beatrice Chebet as runners-up.

County Recognitions

Kilifi County was honored as the Best County to Visit, while Lamu received the Best Coastal County award. Taita Taveta was recognized for its efforts in promoting safari tourism, and Turkana County was lauded for its cultural tourism initiatives.



A Night to Remember

The Kenya Tourism Awards 2024 not only celebrated excellence but also set a benchmark for quality and innovation in the tourism sector. The event highlighted the diverse and rich offerings of Kenya's tourism industry, promising a bright future for all stakeholders involved.
