Highlights from the Content Creators Gala 2024

On the 4th of April, the National Museums Auditorium in Kenya was abuzz with creativity, talent, and inspiration as the Content Creators Gala unfolded in all its grandeur. Hosted by the dynamic duo of Resian Lebai and Patrick Igunza, the event brought together a diverse array of content creators, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to celebrate and honor excellence in digital content creation across various categories.

The gala was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Timothy Owase, the CEO of the Kenya Films Commission, whose insights and encouragement resonated throughout the evening. Among the notable personalities adding flair to the event were rapper Collo and Refigah Heavyweight, the CEO of Grandpa Records, who lent their star power and support to the burgeoning digital content industry.

The heart of the gala lay in its acknowledgment of creativity and innovation across a spectrum of content creation genres. Here are some of the standout categories that were celebrated during the event:

Best visual storyteller category honored creators who weave captivating narratives through the power of visuals, be it through stunning photographs, graphics, or mesmerizing animations. The Under 30 category winner was Clara Koimett and Dishon Amanya took 1st runners up, the 2nd runners up was Shem Obara while in the Over 30 category, Kelvin Odeny took the crown, Joy Muchiri of Wild Petals took the 1st runners up while Jackline Kagu was the 2nd runners up

Best video content creator recognizes the prowess of creators in producing outstanding video content that engages, inspires, and leaves a lasting impact on audiences. Ophine Ngano carried the crown for the under 30 category, Lerte Tellah took the 1st runners up and Gideon Mbeche was the 2nd runners up. Felix Kamau was the winner in the over-30 category followed by Dinah Khasandi and Amoke Ndege was the 2nd runner up.

Innovative content award celebrates creators who dare to be different, introducing fresh and trend-setting content that pushes boundaries and sets new standards of creativity. Josphine Lekatoo won the under-30 category, Daniel Ole Sito and Hamza Kariuki were 1st and second runners up respectively. In the over-30 category, Kendi Simon won with John Mwanzia and Douglas Munyendo taking the 1st and second runners up respectively

Best educational content honors creators dedicated to sharing knowledge, insights, and valuable information, enriching the lives of their audience through educational content. Bonnie Gathura was the winner in the under 30 category, Boniface Otieno Took the 1st runners up and Linda Natocho Magero was the 2nd runner-up. In the Over 30 category, Elishapan Wachira took the award home while Kinana Munene of Travel Tuesdays was the 1st runner-up and George Obiero was the 2nd runner-up.

Rising Star Award Recognizing emerging talents whose potential and growth in the digital content space have been nothing short of remarkable, promising a bright future ahead. Joseph Mutinda, Brian Ochieng and Kennedy Owino dominated the under 30 category and Kipngeno Mutai won the over 30 category followed by I am Dezmond and Elvin Osoro was the second runners up

Best Podcast/Voice Content Awarding creators who excel in the realm of audio storytelling, captivating listeners through engaging podcasts, and compelling voice content. Owen Andove was the winner in the under-30 category, Alex Guantai was the 1st runner up and Teddy Kitili was the 2nd runner-up. Muthoni Waigwa won the over-30 category and Noni Mugera was the 1st runner-up.

Engagement Champion Celebrating creators who not only create great content but also excel in engaging with their audience and building strong connections and communities.Dickens Luvanda won the under 30 category, Muthomi Kelvin and Baya Mungaro were the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. Mical Imbukwa won the over 30 category while Neema Doreen Sylvery and Jackline Kagu were the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively

Best Lifestyle Content Recognizes creators whose content inspires and influences in the realms of fashion, home, travel, wellness, and beyond, reflecting their unique journeys and tastes. Shawn Dalmas won the under-30 category. Caroline Wanja And Faith Wambua took the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. In the over-30 category, Jeen Gichuhi won and Jackline Muthoni was the 1st runner-up.

Best gaming creator honors creators who immerse audiences in the exciting world of gaming, from captivating gameplay to insightful reviews and industry insights. This Category did not receive any submissions during the nomination phase.

Platform pioneer recognizes creators who lead the way in leveraging new or niche social platforms, showcasing innovative strategies and content creation techniques. Dennis Prince Won the under-30 category and Elijah Kahunya was the 1st runner up. No submissions were made for the over 30 category during the nominations

Best DIY and Craft Content Celebrates creators who ignite creativity through DIY projects, crafts, and hands-on activities, inspiring their audience to unleash their artistic side. Charity Karoki won the under 30 category , Keren Osapir and Abdulrashid Abdirahman were the 1st and second runners up respectively. Victorine Gor Bagged the over 30 category.

Influencer of the year highlights creators whose impact goes beyond content creation, making significant contributions to their platform or industry throughout the year. Thagana Peters won the under 30 category. Bruzz Willis and Martha Mora Moruri came in 1st and 2nd runners up

Best comedy and entertainment content recognizes creators who bring laughter and joy to their audience, lightening the digital landscape with their entertaining content. Boniface Kariuki won the under 30 category. Vivian Awana and Emmanuel Mutwiri gannered 1st and 2nd runners up respectively

Diversity and inclusion advocate honors creators who champion diversity, equity, and inclusion through their content, amplifying underrepresented voices and promoting inclusivity. Habiba Wakio topped the under 30 category. Getrude Nthambi Katula and Maurine Imbayi took the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively. In the over 30 category, Nancy Kipkorir emerged victorious while Jacline Kagu was the 1st runners up.

Best health and fitness content celebrates creators who prioritize health, fitness, and well-being, motivating and inspiring their audience to lead healthier lifestyles. Isac Ogutu won the under-30 category. Aidah Munzatsi and Joyce Michere emerged 1st and second runners up respectively.

Best animation and graphics creator Awarded creators whose mastery in animation, motion graphics, and visual effects captivate and enchant audiences across platforms. Empress Damah won the title under 30 category. Michael Ayaga and Stephen Nyaoko were the 1st and second runners up respectively

Best music and performing arts creator: Honors talents in the realms of music, dance, theater, and performing arts, whose creativity and passion inspire artistic expression and innovation. Onesmus Munene was the winner in the under 30 category. Marley Clinton and Ezekiel Oteki took the 1st and 2nd runners up. Juvenalis Amonde won the over 30 category. Blessed Paul and John Kasala came in 1st and 2nd runners up respectively

Authenticity award Celebrates creators who stay true to themselves, maintaining authenticity in their content and online presence, resonating with audiences on a genuine level. Loise Waruingi topped the under 30 category. Duncan Odumbe and Kinya Nina made it to the 1st and 2nd runners up. Justus Njuki was the winner in the over 30 category. Mical Imbukwa and Joy Muchiri made it to the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

Community builder award recognizes creators who go beyond content creation to foster strong, supportive communities, nurturing connections, and camaraderie among followers. This category did not receive submissions during the nomination period.

African Story teller award recognised creators who tell the African stories in unique ways. This category was not a competitive one hence the pannel unanimously agreed upon the person to be crowned winner. This award was presented to Sabala Tv.

Eco-Warrior Award Recognizes creators dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues, promoting sustainable practices, and advocating for eco-friendly lifestyles. Dishon Amanya Won the under 30 category. Ruth Kieru and Ian Elroy Ogonji came in the 1st and second runners up categories. Kinana Munene emerged victorious in the over 30 category while David Githaiga was the 1st runners up.

The Content Creators Gala 2024 not only celebrated individual achievements but also showcased the collective power of creativity, storytelling, and innovation in the digital age.
